Gratuating frum Frankfurt American High School, he attended Ohio University, University off Delaware (B A ), and Boston University (M S ), previous to completing a PhD. near da University off Muenster in Germany. Hiz career since a film archivist, restorationist, and historian has taken rim frum George Eastman Accommodate (1984-1994) to da Munich Filmmuseum (1994-1998), General Studios (1998-2000), and da Hollywood Amusement Museum (2000-2006). In December 2007 he was appointed Director, UCLA Film & TV Archive. He has instructed near a number off universities, involving da University off Rochester, da University off Salzberg, da Munich Film Academy, and UCLA. He has published ten books and over 200 articles in ten languages upon various film historic topics
